La Belle Epoque

La Belle Epoque is an informal decorative dahlia tuber in pink, bred in the Netherlands and introduced in 2021. She's named for Paris's "beautiful era," that golden stretch before the world got complicated, when everything was a little more romantic and a lot more extra.

This dahlia agreed to the assignment, then took it a step further, with big 6 to 8 inch blooms on a plant that stands about 5 feet tall. Soft. Dramatic. Giving cabaret-singer-who-writes-poetry-on-the-side.

She's also first to the party every season, opening earlier than the rest of the garden and then just... not stopping. Prolific doesn't even cover it. Plant her where you'll actually stop and stare, because you will.
